There are few holiday activities as exhilarating as sailing. It can be challenging yet immensely rewarding to conquer the waters, plus you are treated to unique and spectacular views and feel completely at one with the world around you. Learning a new skill is also a great way to bring your family together and create many memories. |
Nonsuch Bay - a Safe Environment for Learning to Sail If you are anything like me, you will want to introduce your kids to as many activities as possible from an early age and encourage them to follow any activity that they feel passionate about. However, as a parent, I will always find safety paramount and particularly when it comes to any kind of extreme sport. This is why Nonsuch Bay in Antigua is the best destination to learn how to sail with your whole tribe, as this is a safe and calm bay which is perfect for all ages.
A Hidden Gem
Nonsuch Bay is one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets, with magnificent white beaches, lush tropical hills and secluded bays. Carved out of the south-east corner of Antigua, this is a stunning area of the world and home to all kinds of beautiful wildlife. A paradise for adventure seekers, the package holiday that I designed has all the ingredients for the ultimate activity holiday for families looking to show their children the world’s hidden gems.
Sailing for Kids
Whilst there are many breathtaking sights to take in, Nonsuch Bay is where people come for activity holidays. For families, sailing here with kids is safe and easy is safe and easy thanks to a barrier reef offering protection from the open sea. This provides two square miles of calm and tranquil enclosed waters - the perfect environment for learning how to sail!
Sailing Programmes for All Ages & Levels
If you opt for the Summit & Blue package that my team and I have put together, we can offer you and your family world class sailing and hospitality with a brilliant sailing school. With independent sailing activity programmes for kids, teenagers and adults, it ensures that everybody can get involved and conquer the open waters.
The package we have built also caters for different abilities. No matter if you are a complete beginner or an experienced sailor seeking a “turn-up and go” service; our package has you covered, thanks to a large fleet of sailboats and experienced instructors. This fleet has everything from junior single-handler sailboats right through to 24ft RS Elite keelboats for 3 to 4 adults.
If you happen to have a younger child then fear not, as you can still enjoy our fun and valuable activity holidays. For families with kids between 4 and 7, the resort has a childcare programme. This will see them taken on a wide range of fun activities on the beach and even on sailing trips with an adult instructor. With friendly and experienced staff keeping the younger ones entertained both indoor and out, it allows you to make the most of your stay - whether that is out snorkelling or soaking up the sun on the serene beaches.
Nonsuch Bay is a dream destination for families looking for an adventurous trip against a stunning and tranquil backdrop. Together with my team, I have created a package which will give you and your family a holiday that you’ll never forget.
