Things to Do There are many fun and active things to do during your holiday in Hvar if lying on the beach all day is not your style. The Diving Centre Viking located in town also offers PADI certification courses for the novice who may want to try out the sport. Some other water activities include windsurfing, kayaking, jet skiing and sailing. If you’d rather stay on land, rent a mountain bike or scooter and go exploring! Nightlife A holiday in Hvar wouldn’t be complete without checking out some of the parties and nightlife around town once the sun sets. After a day at the beach, the younger crowd stops in at Hula Hula to enjoy cocktails and the sounds of house and techno music. An alternative is the quieter BB club, part of the Riva Hotel, where afternoon cocktails and cold beer can be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace overlooking some of the grand yachts in the harbour. Carpe Diem Hvar, where Prince Harry has previously been spotted, is a popular choice for late night partying with local DJ’s spinning house music. Kiva Bar is usually packed with the young and beautiful, where old dance, pop and rock classics play, while Nautica is more of a typical disco with more than 100 cocktails and shooters featured on their menu! For something a little more low-key, visit 3 Pršuta, a little wine bar located behind the main square, to sample some of the island’s finest wines paired with authentic Croatian snacks. Getting There When booking your holiday in Hvar, note that there are no direct flights from London, UK. Croatia Airlines and easyJet offer direct flights to Split, where travellers can take an airport bus or taxi to Split port, before boarding a catamaran to Hvar town. If a catamaran isn’t available, an alternative is to catch a ferry to Stari Grad, then take a short bus or taxi ride on to Hvar. When to Visit I recommend you plan your holiday in Hvar during the summer months, between June and September, when temperatures are well above 20°C, the skies are consistently blue, the sea is at its warmest for swimming, and all the local businesses and attractions are open.
