Purchasing a new truck is an exciting process. It’s a great way to get a vehicle that will provide you with a great amount of versatility. However, choosing the perfect the truck can sometimes seem like an impossible task. From 1500s, 2500s, and 3500s; single rear wheels versus dual rear wheels; tow packages, long beds, and short beds and a number of different cab types, it can be very confusing to find the right truck for you. When you visit your local Duncanville Dodge dealer, here are guidelines to get your started in your search for the perfect truck. - Truck class – How much truck do you need? The higher the number (i.e. – 1500, 2500, 3500, etc.) the more powerful and capable the truck is. If you are looking for something to occasionally haul cargo and pull a small trailer, then a 1500 would be your best bet. The 1500s are going to give you the best fuel efficiency as well. The 2500s and 3500s are going to be much more capable and a dual rear wheel 3500 will be able to handle just about anything you can throw at it.
- Cab size – Are you going to be hauling the whole family around? If so, then you will want to consider getting a quad cab or mega cab. Both of these cabs give you significant space in the back row and make getting in and out a breeze. They also offer storage under the seats. If it’s going to primarily be just you, then a regular two door cab may work best.
- Bed size – Consider what you will be hauling in your truck. A short bed is usually 6 feet or less in length while a long bed is 8 feet. The 8-foot bed is great for hauling lumber since an entire 8 foot piece will fit in the bed of the truck without sticking out. A short bed will give the truck a better turn radius and also makes it easier to park.
Be sure that you go to your local Duncanville Dodge dealer to explore your truck options. They will be able to help you choose the truck that best meets your needs.
