Over the years, there has been even more driving test myths created, hoping that pupils are scared into failing their driving tests. This is simply not the case. Fortunately, I work alongside one of the UK’s best driving schools so have a lot of inside knowledge that can help new pupils. There are a lot of driving school franchise businesses currently available in the UK. However, a lot of them fail to provide you with what can be considered as pretty valuable information. This article will discuss 5 Modern Day Driving Test Myths and help you pass your driving test that little bit faster, without the worry of false claims. If You Stall, You Fail I’m not too sure how this one started circulating around the test centres but if you stall, if does not mean that you have failed your driving test. The only time your driving examiner will consider a stall as an immediate fail is if you stall the engine at a potentially dangerous situation. For example, at a roundabout or busy junction. The main thing here is to ensure that you handle the stall in the correct way. Never panic and rush into getting the car started again, as you could cause an accident. Examiners Must Fail Some Drivers This has to be the longest standing driving test myth going. Every pupil that gets taught to drive, inevitably asks if the examiners have a quota to fill. That is simply not the case. There are over 400 driving test centres nationwide in the UK and every single one of them confirmed that this claim is an urban myth. You needn’t worry. So if your driving test examiner is very friendly or quite frosty and stubborn, it will have no impact on the outcome of your driving test. 3 Errors and You Fail Again, another driving test myth that simply is not true. In fact, you are actually allowed up to 15 faults on your driving test before you fail. Now obviously, this does not mean that you should go out onto the roads thinking that you can get away with errors. After all, you want to pass your driving test with the lowest amount of errors as possible right? However, if you get 1 serious or dangerous fault that will result in an instant fail, so make sure you remain focussed until you get out of the car and the examiner has declared the end of the test. Women Should Wear Revealing Clothes This is quite simply ridiculous and not to mention extremely sexist. Driving examiners will not take a blind bit of notice of your clothes, no matter how revealing. If you have failed your test, your fashion choices will be completely unable to help you. If you are considered a curvy woman, you should make sure that your cleavage is covered and that you are comfortable when you drive. Follow Every Direction Given Our final myth is the fact that you have to follow every directional instruction that the examiner gives you. This is not the case. If it is not safe for you to follow the direction provided, simply proceed on the safest route. After all, the examiner is testing your ability to drive a car safely, not your ability to follow instruction. Although, failing to follow the correct directions may result in an error on your test. This will vary on the examiner. driveJohnson’s is a national Driving School Franchise based in the South East.
