How is the color in your home? Are your walls starting to look faded and tired? Perhaps it is your new home and you want to get rid of many of the neutral colors. Whatever your reason, now is a fantastic time to consider interior painting in your home in Dunwoody. That said, it can seem overwhelming trying to decide between all the different colors and types of paint. To help lessen the stress, let’s take a look at the most common types of paint. - Matte – This is a very common type of paint. It has no shine and does a great job hiding imperfections in the wall. However, it is marked easily and can be difficult to clean without touching it up.
- Satin – Satin is often used and not always fully understood. Basically, it has just a little bit of sheen to it so it is much more easily cleaned than matte. It may show imperfections, though, so be careful where you use it.
- Semi-gloss – This is a common sheen for kitchens and bathrooms. It cleans very easily, making it ideal for high traffic and messy areas. It is also commonly used on trim, again because of its ability to be cleaned. It has a noticeable sheen to it and will show any imperfections on your wall.
- Gloss – Full gloss has a vibrant sheen to it. It will highlight any imperfections on your wall, so make sure to use it only where your walls are in good shape or have been repaired.
Choosing the right type of paint for your home can really bring your entire house together and make it feel like home. Matte and satin are both common in living areas, while semi-gloss is common in high use areas like the kitchen. Once you’ve decided on interior painting for your home in Dunwoody, be sure to find a professional to help you choose the best colors and types of paint for your home.
