No one actually likes to shave. It's one of those necessary evils that you have to do if you ever want to get a date. However, thanks to laser hair removal in New York, you might not have to shave anymore. And guess what? Your dating life doesn't even have to suffer, and it's not wintertime. If you have decided that you want to commit to laser hair removal, you will have a series of appointments to go to, and here is how you can prepare for them. Realistic Expectations It is important that you have realistic expectations when you have your initial consultation and when you have your following visits. Laser hair removal has varying effects depending on your skin tone and pigment of your hair. You may want to remove certain body hair, but sometimes the laser just cannot penetrate all of your you want removed. When you go to your consultation, ask what you can expect so that you know what the end result will likely be, but also know that it takes many appointments and sometimes follow up visits after your series of appointments are over to remove all the hair. Let It Grow You don't have to let all of your unwanted hair grow to an ungodly length, but when you are preparing to get your hair removed by laser, you need to stay away from waxing or plucking your hair. The laser has to sense the pigment from your hair to locate it and zap it so that the follicle won't continue to produce hair, but if you wax, then the follicle won't be obvious for the laser to find. You can still shave your hair since the laser will be able to find hair from the hair follicle underneath the skin. Expect a Little Pain When you get laser hair removal done, it isn't always painless. However, you shouldn't be nervous about your initial visit. Many people who experience laser hair removal say that it feels similar to being lightly snapped with a rubber band. Though that's not exactly a pleasant experience, you've probably experienced worse pain from razor burn when you shave, and if you have waxed in the past, it is much less painful than that experience. All in all, it is still worth the pain to get it done. Prioritize If you are like most people, you probably would ideally get rid of all the hair on your body from your eyebrows down. However, this isn't always realistic, at least not to do it all at once. As mentioned before, laser hair removal in New York can be slightly painful, so you probably wouldn't want it done all over your body at once. So you should decide what part of your body you would like done first. This could be based on the price of the area or it could be based on what body part is seen most often. Whatever is most important to you is where you should start.
