In the world there are millions of people living in empty stomach and from the rest, a big number of populations facing malnutrition due to lack of proper nourishment. There are various reasons can be pointed out for these type of circumstances and following wrong procedure of supplying the food is one of them. In most of the cases, food get wasted before reaching at their destination and also on the other hand crop or vegetables get wasted without storing them.

Now innovators come with a solid solution which is effective to store the food products for a long time. Presently freeze drying technology has come with the solution for food storage and made the processing easy to handle. According to some researchers, this technology was popular to the Peruvian Incas of the Andes. In their time, they used this process to store potatoes and others crops in the mountains. In these mountains, the food get frozen with the help of the cold temperatures of the mountain and after sometime the water vaporized for the low pressure in high altitude. This same process was also followed by the government in the World War II but neither earn much popularity nor get any patent because the freeze-dryer was not a real innovation in a time but it has reached at the present place passing through with various developments and evolve processes.

This process is not so complicated to understand, this is only work on one mechanism departing water from the food because most of the food products get wasted because the presence of water in it. Moisture accelerates the spoiling procedure of the food. The dehydration process held under the vacuum, takes away all the moisture from them as a result the food gets a longer life. Not only the freeze-dried food will not just go for longer but also very light weight and can be stored more in a space than normal food items. Now the question is may arise in the mind that, how the freeze drying technology works? It has four steps such as- Freezing- Initially the food meant to be processed, need to be frozen at very low temperature. It allows the appropriate condition for the proper drying of the food.

Vacuum- After the completion of the freezing process, the frozen food will be kept under the vacuum. This is the way where water from the food vaporizes from the solid state without entering liquid phase. This phase is also known as sublimation.

Heat- To accelerate the sublimation process, heat applied. Condensation- After end of these three procedures, low temperature condenser plates finishes the vaporized solutions from the vacuum chamber by converting it back to the solid state. This is the completion of the separation process.
