There are two areas of any house that can always use an update. Whether doing a kitchen or bathroom remodel, South Holland homeowners will get the most appreciation for the dollars they spend in these two rooms. These are 4 of the latest trends for the bathroom. Hi-Tech Shower Most everybody will start or end their day in the shower, and homeowners have begun to demand luxury. Multiple shower heads provide massaging relief to tired muscles. A rain shower head melts the stress away. With new water-tight electronic devices, Bluetooth speakers can be mounted in the shower to get the blood going in the morning and much of the same technology can connect to a smartphone to monitor and control water flow to save water. Open Shelving While many newer homes have added space to the bathroom, many remodel projects center around creating more space in a small area. One optical illusion that provides an open feel is wire shelving. The open shelves under the sink or behind the toilet let light pass through and create a brighter room. Glass shelves can also be used in a shelf unit that is recessed into the wall. Geometric Sink and Tub The new century has brought more geometric shapes to the bathroom. Sinks and tubs are squared off on the ends. Faucets and shower heads are blocky as well, with more angles being used in every area. This adds more depth to the room and works well in almost any design palette. Heated Floors One trend that seems to keep surging is heated floors. Many bathrooms have cold tile floor that is hard on the feet in the morning. Radiant heating underneath heats the tile to a comfortable temperature. In turn, the warm tiles not only warm the feet, but they warm the room and heat helps to control the humidity that builds up in a bathroom. Bathroom remodeling in South Holland is about more than money. It is about comfort and ease of use. The bathroom is a sanctuary from the world. Most of the trends in design reflect this need for peace and quiet.
