The thought of airport homes may sound a bit unconventional and downright strange to a few people. However, contrary to popular belief, they are getting quite popular for a number of reasons. Imagine the thought of having your own private airport in your backyard – so you can use your recreational plane to travel to and fro as you wish. These kind of homes put a certain twist of everyday living seeing that they are built to maintain the idea of having a comfortable living space, while still being somewhat dedicated to aviation. Residential airparks are becoming more of a common feature when compared to previous years, seeing that the thought of a runway strip in the backyard didn’t set well in the minds of a few people. Nevertheless, more people are on the hunt for airport properties based on the sense of freedom they are able to provide. Ridge Landing Airpark happens to be one of the few companies that have dedicated themselves to identifying properties such as these to resell to the market at affordable prices. They are based in Florida and for the last forty-nine years, they have managed to evolve the entire business of airport communities in Florida and change the mindset of many persons who initially deemed the concept as strange. Currently, work is being done to further expand their offerings in the sense of adding more homes along with more paved runways. The preserving of the woodlands close-by are still a priority, so extra effort is made to find ways to expand their reach without encroaching on that vital part of nature. In addition to selling airpark homes, they also provide plane rental services so if a small group is planning a getaway for instance, they can use one of the Florida airpark communities as their base camp. This simply means that they would start their trip at the airpark and afterward they would be returned to the airpark safely to go about their respective ways. Professional pilots are known to take advantage of these homes as well, seeing that they are always on the move – having a house with a runway not to mention a mini airport in the back could become a perfect vacation home for these pilots. Most of these aviation communities in Florida are built in such a way where you have up to two acres of land with stabilized grass taxis. These taxis lead to a paved runway that’s approximately 915m in length. For those persons who may have floatplanes and amphibians, there is also accommodation for them as well – seeing that the Ridge Landing Crooked Lake Pilot House is also within close proximity. Yes, these homes are unconventional but they take the concept of regular living to new heights – pun intended.
