Appreciate the historical views from Nu'uanu Pali Lookout Situated next to Pali highway, this historic spot is the site of the Battle of Nu'uanu, where King Kamehameha I and his soldiers battled the military of chief of Oahu, eventually pushing nearly 700 men from the cliff. After the gruesome battle, the islands of Hawaii were unified under the rule of King Kamehameha. Today, this nearly 1,000ft cliff is a popular lookout spot through a tropical rainforest. Treat your taste buds to traditional Hawaiian food When in Honolulu, one thing that must be top of your list is eating authentic Hawaiian cuisine. Some of the most popular Hawaiian dishes include squid luau, laulau, kalua pig, kalua pig, among many others. Take in a pint of locally brewed beer Book a low-cost flight to Honolulu and drink some locally brewed beer of homegrown barley and bops at Waikiki Brewing Company or Honolulu Beerworks, where the beers are cold and crafted with aloha. Attempt to Surf It’s hard to leave Honolulu without stepping a foot on a surfboard at least once. Although Wakiki beaches might always be crowded, there is no better place to learn surfing than the birthplace of modern surfing.
