This type of program for drug addiction is one of the most effective methods to help them recover. Just because it states it is a 90-day program it is not necessarily three months long. The ninety days is used to designate a drug treatment program that is longer than 30 days. The program is customized to fit what the patient needs. When in this type of drug treatment program there are stages that are followed.
Detoxification and addition
Two significant parts of a 90-day drug treatment in Texas program is detox and abstinence. While under medical supervision, the patient will be purged of the abused substance. The drug treatment program is done in a treatment facility or hospital. After the detox part, more assessments are conducted to complete the patient’s complete sociopsychological profile along with identifying any co-occurring conditions that caused the patient to become addicted. Once this is done then the type of treatment program will be developed.
Personal responsibilities—identifying and incorporating
During this stage, the patient’s participation during therapy will start to pay off. While in therapy, the patient will start to understand the social and personal conditions that help to contribute to their addiction and will be analyzed. The staff will provide tools to help assist the patient in coping with these conditions and help them to reorganize their life to help control the conditions. This is done to help prevent a trigger that could cause the patient to relapse.
Reintegration
This stage generally starts after being in the program 45-60 days. The patient starts to apply the techniques that they have learned from the first two stages. They start to identify the necessary support groups, plan for employment, and getting in contact with any personnel that will be involved with their aftercare program. This is considered an open-end stage. It could go beyond the normal period of 90 days.
When looking for a 90-day rehabilitation drug treatment program look for a program that will provide a range of environmental options. This can include age specific, substance specific, single gender, etc. The program should also be flexible in their therapy. The more diverse the 90 day drug treatment in Texas is the better the chances that the treatment facility will be able to provide the patient the assistance that is tailored to their specific needs and be successful in getting the patient off the drugs they are addicted to.
When in drug treatment it is important that the patient have a lot of emotional support to help them get off the drugs and stay off them. Although the program is 90-days, staying off drugs and not relapsing will be something that the patient will deal with their entire life.
