In my humble opinion, there is no greater European city for adventure-loving families than Budapest in Hungary. Canoeing and Kayaking on the Danube The spectacular River Danube, which is the second longest river in all of Europe, divides the city in two. Canoeing and kayaking on the outskirts of the metropolis is a great way to escape, get some exercise and take in the lovely surroundings. Most reputable canoe tours on the Danube commence from one of the city’s best leisure areas, and proceed up the river to one of the many lush islands nearby. Here you can chill out, explore or have a paddle before returning and finishing off the outing with a classic Hungarian meal in an inviting eatery. This is a terrific day out and will show you a completely different side of the city.
