When hunting seasons comes around each year a hunter wants to hunt. This usually leads to him or her packing up and leaving non-hunting family members behind. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone in the family could pack up and go on a trip together and all be happy? Well I have found multiple places all over the United States that will accommodate families with hunters and non-hunters. There is a town in northern Wisconsin that needs to be considered, Appleton, WI. Not only is this area great for the white-tailed deer hunters, small game hunters, and fishermen, it is also great for the rest of the family. The Fox River Mall is ranked as one of Wisconsin’s greatest shopping destinations which is composed of over 180 stores. The stores range from home décor to trendy apparel, shoppers will find all kinds of merchandise at this large complex. If shopping is not your thing there are a number of local museums like the Paper Discovery Center. This an education museum about paper that is fun for all ages because at the end of the tour each person gets to make their own paper. If your kids are not old enough to enjoy this there is also a children’s museum that they will enjoy for hours. From painting to several different play stations where they can let their imagination run wild. If the weather is willing, kids of all ages will enjoy the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve, Appleton Memorial Park, or the Butterfly Garden of Wisconsin. Before you and your family leave this great city please make a point to stop by the downtown. This is not a normal downtown, it is full of fun unique activities that cost little to no money. There is a public art walk that displays art all through the down town area and there is a map, so you will not miss a one. There is also the Fox Trot Trail is a self-guided, scenic two-mile loop of Appleton's Downtown and Riverfront which highlights some of Appleton rich history and the beautiful Fox River. Don’t forget to stop and try one of their many fantastic eateries. If you and your family are not in to walking, shopping, or museums just want to relax while your hunter is out well than look no further. The city of Appleton happens to be home to several fantastic day spas. Grab a message, a body wrap, and a facial while you wait on your hunter to return. Once your day of play or relaxation is finish, then grab your hunter and head out for some fabulous food and a night cap at one of their great local night spots. Chester’s Pub and Grub has live music, great eats, and some of the best bloody Mary’s in town. If you are passionate about beer than you MUST stop by Appleton Beer Factory. This is local beer at its best! The beer is crafted there in house and matched perfectly with great menu options like Ruben sandwich and fried cheese curds. IF you are more of a wine person than there are a number of wine bars that should not be over looked. Mondo wine bar is a located in downtown and it caters to the “non-snobby” wine drinkers. Just feeling like Christmas should be year-round then you must stop by Cleo’s Cocktail Lounge. This bar decorated for charismas 365 days a year and it is a great local joint to claim as home on your trip. This city located in northern Wisconsin should not be over looked when trying to make a vacation that will keep everyone happy. Hi, I am Holly Brice with huntingscopespro.com we sell hunting scopes. Recently, I have been hearing several complaints from the non-hunter and how they are board on hunting trips. So, I thought I would take some time to see if I could find places that would accommodate both the hunter and the non-hunter. I found so many great spots around the United States and I want to write about each one, so I can share these what I have found. I hope you enjoy my series of great American places for hunters and non-hunters.
