If you are in constant pain from sitting, standing, or other normal activities it may be time to visit a chiropractor. Those with back, knee, hip, or joint pain will be able to benefit from using a chiropractor. They will assess your pain levels, determine how long you have been dealing with the pain, ask you what may trigger the pain, and then they will treat the pain in office. Most chiropractors do a spinal manipulation and others have been using technology to send pulses through your spine to help it realign. Either way, what is best is that your trust your chiropractor and also have them give you exercises to be doing while away from treatment. Some chiropractors will manipulate your spine and then set up another appointment to do it again. Don’t go to these chiropractors, they are not there to help, only to take your money. Well intentioned chiropractors will create a treatment program so you can begin moving like you used to or like you are supposed to. The root cause is the way you are moving right now. Often times the pain is so severe or distracting that trying to perform routine movements can feel like a chore and cause the pain to be worse. A spinal manipulation will allow you to move with less aches and pains for days sometimes weeks, at a time before the pain starts up again. A chiropractor cannot simply ‘fix’ you but they can help. Proper strength training and movement training will enable you to return to the activities you once loved. Most major sporting leagues have team chiropractors to help athletes realign after playing long, grueling games. This is another step in the recovery process for experienced athletes looking to gain a competitive edge on their opponents. Professional chiropractic care will help increase blood flow to muscles allowing for a faster recovery. When combined with rest and proper nutrition and training, chiropractic care can help you reach the next level in any sport that you do. So whether you want to get moving like you used to, or are looking for a competitive advantage to stay at the top of your sport, then chiropractic care is right for you. At Harbor Chiropractic we are committed to getting your body moving again. Contact us today to schedule a consultation.
