How To Choose Your Next Corporate Event Venue

Business
One thing no one will tell you is that the person who is in charge of choosing the right corporate event venue for a company has everything to lose from the start. If you find a good venue that lacks a few things, you didn’t do a good enough job. If the venue is stellar and meets all criteria requested, the bar is set almost unfairly high for all other events even if they aren’t similar. Of course, choose the worst venue possible, and you’re likely going to be looking for another job. There really is no great way of looking at this particular task.

Then again, maybe the way we look at corporate venues and get-togethers is a bit antiquated and out of touch. Sure, you still have the need for PowerPoint presentations and paper copies of all materials in some instances, but times have changed, and companies are in need to seeing things from a different perspective in order to stay ahead.

But how does one go about doing this? How do you undo so many years of assimilation into the standard boring business presentation? Easy — think outside the box. More importantly, think about what parts of the presentation are actually of consequence to the people attending. The content of a business gathering can be disseminated in a number of ways electronically, so it’s probably best to figure out how you can improve on the little things most companies take for granted.

Here’s a few ways you can go about choosing the right corporate venue for your next big event:

Budget — If you know what kind of money you can spend, you can get a better idea of what venues you have at your disposal. This is perhaps the most important factor in finding a good venue.

What is Included — When contacting prospective venues, find out what they offer with their facility. This includes internet connectivity, A/V items, and even staff.

Check a Calendar — Have a few possible options for your next event. Sticking to only one concrete date will make it much harder to find a venue. Flexibility can really be key in the process.

Number of Guests — You have to know how many guests you’ll have. If there is one way to know whether a venue can meet your needs, it’s knowing ahead of time what kind of capacity their facility has.

List of Needs — Almost as important as budget, you need to layout the needs of your company for an event. If a venue cannot meet these needs, move on. There’s no point in wasting time.

One of the latest trends for a unique corporate event venue is renting out a local dine-in movie theater (a.k.a movie grill). This way, you can customize a menu, have ample parking, provide a bit of a more relaxed environment, and best of all, you can take advantage of some of the highest quality A/V equipment around. A corporate event venue can really be anywhere you want it to be, so why not rethink the whole notion of how your company gets together?
