What's Around Your Student Residence? London's Marylebone

Education
Looking to find the perfect place for your student residence? London is full of exciting areas, but a well-known student favourite is Marylebone. Its great location, pretty buildings and quaint high street are just some of its excellent features.

For many people studying in the capital, Marylebone feels like a small village in the middle of the city, which can be a breath of fresh air if you’re used to the hustle and bustle. If you choose to live in the area, Marble Arch, Regents Park and Baker Street will all be well within reach, so you’ll never be short of something to do. Read on for some of the other highlights of the area.

On Your Doorstep

If you choose Marylebone as your student residence, London’s top attractions are just a short tube or bus journey away. Iconic locations nearby include Hyde Park and Oxford Street, so it’s definitely worth venturing out to see what you can find.

You’ll have some great places to shop right on your doorstep, too. Of course, there’s Oxford Street just a short walk away, but you can also explore the nearby farmers’ market and grab some fresh fruit and veg. If you’re after a more cultural shopping experience, head to Marylebone High Street and check out the independent shops – don’t forget to look out for the famous Daunt Books store.

Getting in Touch with Nature

You may be surprised to learn how many of the city’s green spaces are close to Marylebone despite there being so many busy attractions nearby, too. If you’re looking to get in touch with nature while you’re studying in the city, explore the famous Hyde Park area or visit Regents Park & Zoo with your friends. The zoo even has a cool Open Air Theatre, so you can really make the summer evenings last.

Other Attractions

There are plenty of nearby attractions no matter where your interests lie, but some of the most popular include the Sherlock Holmes Museum and The Wallace Collection. The museum offers a great insight into the life of this famous literary resident, and the stunning Georgian house in which the Wallace Collection paintings are stored makes for a great day out. There’s even a restaurant onsite, so no need to bring a packed lunch.

If you enjoy music, you’ll love visiting the esteemed Wigmore Hall. Book a ticket to one of the Sunday morning concerts and lose yourself in some exceptional classical music – what better way to make the most out of your student residence? London’s music scene is just waiting to be discovered!

Marylebone is the ideal area for a student residence. London’s top attractions, gorgeous green spaces and cultural highlights will all be right on your doorstep – discovering the city has never been easier. Get in touch with a specialist student accommodation provider to get your journey started as smoothly as possible.
