The Best Reasons to Study Abroad in London

Education
With a list of great universities and a wide range of student accommodation, London is a seriously great place to study. It’s diverse, accessible and cool, and there’s always something to see or do. In this article, we’ll run through some of the best reasons new students should consider making the UK capital their home.

Iconic Images

It’s often easy to laugh at how a city you know is portrayed in movies and TV, but all stereotypes come from somewhere. One of the first things that hits you when you come here for the first time is just how unique and iconic it looks. Newer developments like the Shard jostle with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament to produce an instantly recognisable skyline.

If you’ve ever wanted to have world-famous buildings a short walk from your student accommodation, London is the place for you.

Parks and Nature

It’s not all big buildings and riverside walks! The city is bursting with open green spaces, many of which are free to enter, making them the perfect places to spend time with friends on long summer afternoons.

Top Tip: For a special countryside experience, travel west to Richmond Park to see the deer.

Culture and Entertainment

As the UK’s biggest city, it is the country’s centre for arts and entertainment as well as politics and business. Online guides offer listings for events including music, comedy and plays, and you can also often find tips on something to do through your student accommodation – London has so much to offer that you’ll never be bored.

Top Tip: Some of the best attractions in the city are completely free. Check out the National Gallery for world-class paintings and the British Museum for historical artefacts.

A Mix of Cultures

As a historic centre of immigration, it’s impossible to ignore the huge variety of influences on show. Even in the streets, you can hear a range of different languages and see people from all over the world. Even better, this makes the city one of the best places in the country to eat. Restaurants serve dishes from around the world, and it’s well worth exploring different markets to find unique ingredients.

You’ll be sure to make friends while staying in student accommodation – London is the best when it comes to meeting interesting people from around the world.

Easily Accessible

Of course, with so much to do and such a wide range of locations, you might worry about getting around. Thankfully, the city is blessed with affordable, accessible transport options. Buses, overground trains and of course, the world famous tube, run seven days a week and provide night services.

As you can see, the UK capital is a great place to study. Why not start now and look up courses and student accommodation? London awaits!
