Football Football (or soccer as it is called in some parts of the world) is a British sporting tradition like no other. With some of the world’s best football on offer in the English Premier League and the Champions League there is no shortage of exciting action to watch. It’s the fierce rivalries of local clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham that make the football season so exciting to watch. London’s top teams are only half the fun – there are plenty of others that will be playing in the Championship every week! Tennis Think tennis in London and you think of Wimbledon, the world-famous tennis tournament that draws the brightest and best stars every year. Although you might think that there’s no tennis to watch when you arrive in the autumn, there is! The O2 hosts the Nitto ATP Finals which are described as the ‘ultimate tennis show’ and gets some of the biggest names in the sport taking part. Good to Know: It’s much easier to get a ticket for the Nitto ATP Finals than for Wimbledon – and there’s no chance of the rain spoiling the fun! With so much sport on this autumn and winter, it’s probably going to be hard to fit it all in! If you can’t get a ticket for the events themselves there are fan groups that meet in the city’s pubs, and you can always watch at home in your student residence.
