The Isle of Wight is a great holiday destination for all types of people, but especially families. While there is a great range of accommodation options, if you are working on a budget or just love to camp, there are some really fun camping and caravan sites all across the island. With Sandown, Shanklin and Ryde being truly beloved places families head to we have focused here on Isle of Wight caravan parks and campgrounds in these areas in particular. Affordable, attractive, fun, camping or renting a lot in a caravan park is a good option. Whatever you are looking for there is a site perfect for you! Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park - Bembridge Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park is a great place for family camping. It has access to a lovely beach, though access is up and down a steep slope, and while family-friendly is in a quieter area of the island. The camp has lots of things for children to do, there are both outdoor and indoor pools, a bar and sports lounge, an indoor playground as well as an outdoor adventure playground, and even a sauna! You also have mini golf and the usual campground amenities of toilets, showers, a laundry room and such. They even allow dogs! Nodes Point Holiday Park – St Helen's Nodes Point Holiday Park is a little way outside Ryde which is a great town with a lot of things to see and do. At the park itself, you are around 20 minutes from the ferry. It is a popular campsite and has an adventure play area, indoor pool, bar, sports courts to play on as well as showers and launderette. It also has its own shop in case you are missing anything as well as a restaurant for when you do not want to cook yourself. It is dog friendly as long as you are bringing your own camping gear. If you are renting one of their tents, you cannot bring your dog. Lower Hyde Holiday Park - Shanklin This is a very well equipped holiday park, set in the very popular area for Isle of Wight camping, Shanklin. Indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and sauna, sports courts, adventure playground, bar, pool and darts area, restaurant as well as a launderette. While it is not right next to the sea it is only a 20-minute walk where you can find the usual arcades, mini-golf and so on. This is also a dog-friendly site. Whitefield Forest - Ryde If you are looking for a camping experience in a more wooded area how about Whitefield Forest? Near to Ryde but set in among the trees, you can enjoy nature a little more here. How about spotting the beloved red squirrels the island has living here. There are not as many facilities here but you have a shower block and a small shop. Southland Caravan Club Campsite – Newchurch If you are looking at options for Isle of Wight caravan parks this is one of them. It does require membership though, so you would have to pay for that before you then pay for your spot. It is a ten-minute drive from a sandy beach in Sandown and it has a place for ball games, a big playground, showers, toilets and it does have space for tent camping too. Ninham Country Holidays - Shanklin Another popular place for Isle of Wight camping is at Ninham Country Holidays Park in Shanklin. Across a site that is about 18 acres, there is a swimming pool, games and TV room, sporting area, showers and the owners suggest bringing your bikes to get around the campsite. In peak season there are some parts where dogs are not allowed.
