Once in a while, I like to go to an entertaining website called fmylife.com. It’s where people can anonymously submit short stories of unfortunate events that happened in their lives. Some more disastrous than others. For example, here’s a story I found pretty funny. ---------- Today, I got pulled over for speeding. Knowing how much more it would cost in the long run, I handed the officer my license with $300 in cash, "as something to consider for just a warning." He came back with a ticket and verbally warned me that police bribery is a felony. He kept the money. FML ---------- I mean, he got a warning like he asked, just not the warning he wanted. He gave up money just to end up having to give up more. Irony at its finest. It’s kind of like when you buy into an Internet Business Mentor’s training programs or courses, hoping that you’ll learn everything you need, but don’t. And to get that, you’re going to need to buy an upsell program that’s most likely going to cost a lot more. I’ve listened to interviews where people got caught into these sales funnels and got rabbitholed so far down that they spent tens of thousands of dollars and got very little results. Now, there’s nothing wrong with sales funnels and offering upsells. It’s a great way to maximize your sales. But it becomes questionable when you promise certain things the customers will get when they buy the upsells and then you don’t deliver. That’s exactly what happened to an ex-customer of a certain business coach who’s particularly YouTube and Instagram famous. His name I’ll leave out.
