To end this great week off, let me share a funny story that happened a while back. When I exercise, I like to take supplements, BCAAs and whey protein. And I buy both of those at a GNC store near my house. One day, I went to the store to buy another container of BCAA powder. While the cashier was ringing the item up, we were having a nice conversation. He was telling me how GNC has a guarantee. If you buy anything from the store, use it, and you aren’t satisfied with it, then you can return it and get a refund. Then he told me a story of a former customer who took that guarantee in the most literal way possible. There was a woman who bought a powdered supplement. A few weeks later, she came back to the store to return that powdered supplement, which would’ve been fine. But the problem was, she used up all the powder and had two or three scoopfuls leftover. The cashier refused to issue the refund, and the customer got upset and started to fight about it. To make a long story short, the customer was forever banned from stepping into the store. Sometimes it’s hard to wrap my brain around the fact that customers like this one actually exist on this planet, but they do. And from time to time, you may come across those types of customers or clients that will just cause you massive headaches. Maybe they may not even be customers, they’re just people who take up space in your email list. Don’t be afraid to ban them from your business community. I do it pretty frequently to the point where I kick more people out than I bring in, which is why my list has been staying small.
