Split screen videos are basically the videos where more than one shot is put in one frame whether it is the subject of your video or any B-roll shots or something else you want to show in the video you can show all of these in frame and that will be called as a split screen video. You can use tape, ground debris, cracks in the ground or that indentation in the cement.
Rehearsal becomes very important in such type of video to avoid any errors or mistakes while shooting the video. While shooting a video to make it split screen in the editing it will be good if you take multiple shots as it is something that you have to merge while editing the video and after the edit it should look identical not uneven because if it will look uneven then it will give a bad impression on the viewers.
When you are shooting at an outside location for a split screen video then it becomes very important for you to take care of
the natural light effects that are coming in the video, like if you take one shot of the actor and while the actor gets ready for the other shot and in between the weather changes and due to which the lighting will also be changed then you cannot shoot the second shot in another lighting because it should look like it was all shot at the same time, at the same moment; under the same looking lighting condition.
