Supplements for Muscle Gain - What Should You Be Taking Now

As a bodybuilder, nutrition is surely a very important factor in your career. Natural nutrients and supplements for muscle gain are in the heart of bodybuilding career and no bodybuilder can argue against this fact.

As nutrition is of utmost importance then I will mention in this article three of the top supplements that are used by bodybuilders around the world.

The three basic nutrients that are used by bodybuilders naturally or in the form of supplements are: protein, creatine, and glutamine.

I will begin my discussion with protein. Protein is the preferred nutrient for all bodybuilders and they have the right to like it so much. The reason behind this is that protein is considered the building block for muscles nutrition. Protein provides the muscles with amino acids that are essential in building them further. In addition protein can be used in recovery of muscle tissues that have been torn in a tough exercise.

Protein can be found in many natural sources. Meat, chicken, eggs, fish, and dairy products are example of these sources. The variety is so much which leaves no one with an excuse for not having enough of this nutrient. However, since the demand for bodybuilders is big then you need to rely on supplements as one source of protein.

Experts recommend you to take 1.5 or even 2 grams of protein for every pound of body weight and since it has double benefits then you need to take it before and after your training. As a matter of fact protein intake should be spread throughout the day, meaning that you should take a portion each 3 or 4 hours.

Second on the list comes creatine. Creatine is considered as one of the basic supplements for muscle gain. It is one of the essential amino acids that is found in our bodies and is responsible for the energy that your body needs to perform daily activities.

This is the case of normal people. However, athletes, and especially bodybuilders need extra amount of this amino acid to meet the increased demand that arises due to their physical exercise.

In addition to being an energy booster, creatine can be considered to have major role in recovery.

Since creatine has two benefits that are essential to every bodybuilder then you need to take it before and after your training session.

Taking creatine should be in two phases: loading phase and maintenance phase.

Loading phase lasts for around four weeks where 30 grams of creatine is needed daily. When the first phase ends you need to decrease the amount to 5 to 15 grams daily.

Creatine is taken half an hour before exercise and half an hour after and it is preferable not take it at the same time you take protein.

The last supplement that I am going to discuss in this article is glutamine. Glutamine is another amino acid that is found naturally in our bodies. Its existence is significant since it is considered another fuel to muscles.

In addition to being muscle food, it is considered as a booster to the immune system. This is important since training will place immense stress on your immune system.

Thus glutamine again is taken in two portions both to be taken after exercise. One should be taken soon after you finish your exercise and the other late in the night before going to sleep.

What are mentioned in this article are three of the supplements for muscle gain that are of significant importance to all bodybuilders. Taking these supplements, in addition to you basic nutrition is considered a vital step to reach your bodybuilding goals.
