When the world is waking up to the loud cries of protests from all over the world against the current world order, many people are taking an interest in why things are the way they are now. This pursuit often takes us to what the mainstream loathingly terms conspiracy theories, as mainstream explanations do not seem sufficient or clear enough. Not all of these conspiracy theories are totally correct as one contradicts the other in some way, but they are worth having a look at, if only to understand the range of different world views springing from materialism, universalism, the concept of global equality, religion, superstition, prejudices etc. One of the popular conspiracy theories among Christians is the freemasonry conspiracy theory. This refers to the fraternal organization called the Freemasonry whose existence can be traced back into the 16th century. The masons were earlier accused of practicing Satanism by the Christian authorities in 18th century. It is generally held among those who study on the freemasons that the then radical ideas of the Illuminati were introduced in the Masonic lodges. The Illuminati was another secret group which espoused ideas such as gender equality, secularism, liberalism etc. Some people suggest that the Masonic ideas came to the shore of the United States of America and George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and some other founding fathers of America were adherents of the Masonic faith and they left some of the Masonic symbols in the planning of Washington DC, the design of American one-dollar bill etc. as part of a master plan. The masons seek to introduce a Masonic new world government with New Jerusalem as its capital city, the conspiracy theorists claim. The freemasonry rejected this theory saying this is an attempt to malign them and point out the lack of concrete proof behind all of these theories. However, these conspiracy theories continue to associate the freemasonry with Satanism, especially antichrist, claiming that the said group rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ and the perceived dominance of Jews in the finance capital sector is caused at least partially by planned attempts of the masons. Naturally, this theory is quite popular among orthodox Christians, anti-Semites and extreme rightists. There is little reason to believe that the illuminati still exists today, and it is out to create its own world order based on some faiths. Often this theory is associated with another, which is, the concept of money originated to control the masses. Money is circulated by the Federal Reserve and the banks in the form of debts. The debtors are supposed to return the money in a multiplied form, which they cannot as the total sum of money is fixed, which ensures a continuous flow of money towards the banks causing the sharpening of the economic polarization. Corporations expecting profit and banks expecting interest create a burden on those who live on fixed income. Printing more money thus is of no positive use as the new money too is circulated through debts, eventually driving up prices. The connection between this theory and the freemasonry conspiracy theory is that the adherents of the latter believe the Jews to be in control of finance capital and also in league with the Masons.
