As the owner of Montana Cycling and Ski, a full-service shop serving the area in and around Billings, MT, Stuart Simonsen is consistently looking for ways to help avid cyclists improve in the sport. As part of this effort, he's proud to announce that cyclists from Montana Cycling and Ski have participated in a new training video from Epic Rides. In this video, cyclists tackle Beartooth Pass.
The Epic Rides series is designed to introduce cyclists to amazing paths that they may not have the opportunity to experience in real time. From the safety of their own homes, or the comfort of a spinning class, these cyclists can watch the trails pass by and feel as though they are truly participating in an epic ride. Beartooth Pass provided just the right environment for this sort of experience, Stuart Simonsen says.
"Beartooth Pass is a section of Highway 212 that connects Red Lodge and Cooke City, and it's really a beautiful piece of road," says Stuart Simonsen. "It's also known as one of the toughest hill climbs in the United States, as it climbs 4,000 feet in 15 high-altitude miles."
The video tracks the progress of riders as they tackle this path, and the shots are paired with high-energy music that is bound to keep riders feeling inspired and willing to push harder.
"I've done a few workouts with this video, and I found it incredibly inspirational," says Stuart Simonsen. "Billings, MT, has some great trails to take, but sometimes, you just don't have time to get out there and do a workout in real time. These videos are great for those days when you just need to feel the burn, but you don't have a ton of time open."
A snippet of the video is available on the Montana Cycling and Ski website, located at http://montanacycling.com/about/epic-beartooth-pass-pg102.htm. "I encourage people who are interested to look at this video. It's really amazing, and I think it will be beneficial to all kinds of cyclists!"
