05/07/12 -- ATCO/Atlantic recordinggroup Straight No Chaser has announced details for their upcoming#SNClive Fall 2012 Tour. Dates for the fall tour start inBurlington, VT on October 24th and continue through late December(see itinerary below). Tickets will be available to the publicstarting Friday, May 11th. Straight No Chaser -- who was featured on the "Generation YouTube"episode of ABC's 20/20 -- is using the tour to continue expandingon their social media interaction with fans.
The group credits alarge amount of its success to its early adoption and encouragementof sharing content. "This group started because of a viral video onYouTube," explains group member Randy Stine. "From day one, we haveencouraged fans to upload photos and videos from our shows, evenexpanding venue photo policies to ensure that this was possible. Weare excited to really drive home the idea of building a fancommunity around content by naming our tour #SNClive." As its namesuggests, #SNClive will be a multi-platform concert event, with thehashtag giving fans a way to search and categorize content specificto this tour across all social media platforms.
The tour will follow seven shows this summer and the first everStraight No Chaser Cruise -- CHASERS AT SEA -- on the CarnivalDestiny. The special shows Straight NoChaser taking a musical journey through the pop songbook, fromdoo-wop to contemporary pop, all performed with the distinctive SNCtwist and filmed during the group's exclusive summer concertengagement at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City in 2011. In addition to their cruise and upcoming dates, Straight No Chaserwill be going into the studio this summer to record their fourthfull-length album, which is set to be released this fall.
