There are different crash or fad diets that are designed to achieve rapid weight loss. Some of them are quite extreme and can be a health hazard. These include the Watercress Soup diet, the Victoria’s Secret diet, and the Drunk diet. People who follow the Drunk diet exercise and drink whiskey. Other crash diets are the Chicken Soup, Scaresdale, and Metabolism diet.

The Scaresdale diet is considered an extreme dietary plan that involves nutritious deprivation. Dieters can have protein bread, grapefruit, and tea or coffee for breakfast. At lunch, you can eat low-fat cheese, spinach, protein bread, and tea or coffee. Dieters can eat broiled or roast turkey and lettuce and tomato salad. Again, have a cup of tea or coffee. Dieters can snack on celery and carrots between meals and should avoid honey and sugar. The Scaresdale diet is a low-fat, low-calorie diet that can lead to diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, and irritability.

Created by Dr. Scott Rigden, the Metabolism diet is a crash diet that aims to achieve weight loss and management. According to Rigden, there are certain metabolic conditions or disorders that prevent weight loss. These include food and carbohydrate hypersensitivity, hormonal imbalance, and Metabolic Syndrome. Dieters can eat avocado, salmon, eggs, and vegetables that are low in starch. Other allowed foods are whole grain bread, raw nuts, brown rice, and legumes. The Ultra Metabolism diet is a variation of the Metabolism diet. It is recommended to eat whole foods which contain substances that cleanse toxins from the liver. They facilitate the growth of liver enzymes and reduce the risk for cancer. Hyman believes that dietary plans should incorporate liver detoxification. Appetite control and stress reduction are important for successful weight loss. Dieters should drink about two liters of caffeine-free drinks a day. They can choose from different low-carb recipes such as egg cups, roasted chicken bread, and prawn salad with light mayonnaise.

The list of crash diet includes the Cookie diet, Lemonade diet, and Beverly Hills diet. Dieters who are on the Cookie Diet are allowed to eat 9 cookies a day. Each cookie should contain up to 60 calories. Dieters are allowed to eat special soups, cookies, and shakes. Dieters on the Beverly Hills diet can consume foods from three groups – fruits, protein, and fat. Dieters can have protein in the form of milk and dairy products, meat, and high-protein vegetables. You can eat foods with fat, except for products with animal, saturated, and trans fats. Proponents of the Beverly Hills Diet claim that there are many benefits associated with this dietary plan. Lower risk for type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension are some of the purported health benefits. Dieters should eat different fruits that are rich in minerals and vitamins and avoid products that contain artificial flavors, sweeteners, and preservatives. There are some celebrity fad diets as well. Such diets are the Grapefruit Oil diet, Perricone diet, and Bacteria diet.
