The scheduled Federal Skilled Worker Program applications are going to be accepted from and on 4 May, 2013. The final details are announced recently by the immigration minister. The eligibility requirements are as stated below, have to meet any one requirement: - Must have one year of experience without break. The experience has to be in the 24 occupations listed. At least 67 points based in CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) selection factors
- Be eligible for Arranged Employment along with a Labor Market Opinion and from Canadian employer a full-time permanent job offer
- Completed two study years in Canada towards PhD or have completed a PhD in Canada and it must be in a recognized institution
The applicants who are applying under the FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program) have to undergo language testing for their language skills assurance. The test is to demonstrate the ability in French and English. The educational credentials are reviewed to check equivalency with Canadian standards. Educational Credential Assessment: The Canadian immigration minister designed four organizations to perform the educational credential assessments. - Comparative Education Service
- International Credential Assessment Service of Canada and
- Medical Council of Canada
The applicants who finished their studies in Canada need not undergo any educational credential assessment, and it is obligatory to include the foreign credentials along with their application. The credentials which are issued after April 17, 2013, are valid for Canada immigration for a term of 5 years starting from the date it is issued by the selected organization. Limitations: Considering the 24 eligible occupations, the government has put forward a limit in accepting the applications. The accepted applications are 5,000. Among the accepted applications, around 300 applications are accepted for processing a single eligible occupation. A total of 1,000 applications are accepted under the PhD stream beginning from 4 May, 2013 to 30 April, 2014.
