Unique Ways To Use Cable Ties

Cable ties, also known as zip ties, are used to bind objects together. Cable ties are available in different types and structures and used for different field of work. Though the primary use of the ties is to tie and hold the cables/ wires together, it is used for many other purposes as well. Here are some ways you can use cable ties:

• Cable ties can serve great purposes in the garden. Plants that need extra support to stand up straight, like tomato plants, snapdragons and bougainvillea, can be tied with gardening stakes with a cable tie. That will help the plant stand straight.
• You can use cable ties to tie an unruly bunch of flowers that do not stay arranged. Try making them more organized with the cable tie before you set them in vases. But make sure you don't tie the ties too tightly that can cut through the stalks.
• For decoration of practical purpose, you can weave baskets out of cable ties. It may sound unfeasible and crazy, but once you see the results, you will be pleased.
• Cable ties can be extremely beneficial for decorating a Christmas tree. Use cable ties to tie decorative ties like lights, balls, candies, etc to the Christmas tree. The cable ties can withstand very cold temperatures without getting brittle.
• For organizing tools and equipments in the basements, garage or shed, you can use cable ties. Mount pegboards on the walls and make hanging loops of varying sizes with the cable ties. This gives you a custom storage solution that keep your tools within your reach.
• If you have kids coming to your house as guests, you are surely worried about securing your belongings, especially breakable ones. You can use cable ties to secure your kitchen, bathroom and other cabinets and the belongings within. Simply loop them through and around the handles of the cabinets and lock them. When the kids leave, simply unlock the ties to restore access to your belongings.
• If you have to transport your bicycle, there's a trick you can use to avoid the wheels from wobbling in different directions. Use a cable tie to secure the wheels with the rest of the body frame. This will enable the wheels to stay in line with the bicycle body. On reaching your destination, simple cut off the ties and be ready to ride.
• Cable ties can be of help when camping. Use them to tie the tents when you are away. Though it cannot keep away human intruders, it definitely can keep away bugs, insects and snakes.
• Found the zipper pull snapped off when going to wear your favorite sweatshirt. Not to worry if a zip tie is near. Simply insert a tie in the place where the zipper pull used to be and make a loop from it. This will act as a temporary zipper pull for the time being unless you get a new one fixed to it.
