The K3 Spouse Visa is non-immigrant visa which gives legal permission to the spouse of a U.S. citizen to come into the U.S. and stay while he or she completes the immigration process to obtain their Green card. Since it is a non-immigrant visa, the spouse can only enter America once, while holding this visa. As soon as the spouse enters the U.S., he or she must apply for the permanent residency status via the adjustment of status process. To begin the K3 visa process the American spouse needs to complete Form I-130 and Form I-129F with the USCIS. After this, USCIS will notify the U.S. spouse with the notice of action receipt. Once the application is approved, USCIS will forward the petition to the National Visa Center (NVC) where it is updated and prepared to be shipped to the United States Consulate/Embassy where the applicant has applied for this spouse.
