The New York International Auto Show is an annual auto show held in New York City in late March or early April. It is usually held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. It usually opens on or just before Easter weekend and closes on the first Sunday after Easter. In 2013 the NYIAS will take place from March 29 through April 7. The show has been held annually since 1900. The show was held at the New York Coliseum from 1956 to 1987 when the show moved to the Javits Center. The 2013 New York Auto Show has been a hive of activity as automakers continue to unveil record numbers of new cars. But despite all of the important announcements, which include Cadillac's all-new CTS, an unexpected electric vehicle from Mercedes and a radically designed Jeep Cherokee, the mood has been subdued. Two years ago, we would have blamed it on the economy; today it's a sign that the industry is chugging along at a brisk pace, with everyone hunkering down to launch all these great new vehicles. Chrysler Group -- The Jeep Cherokee name is being revived for 2014, and the public will have its first look at the controversial redesign in person in New York. Jeep's stand is on level one, along with the Chrysler trucks and SUVs that debuted at the show. The track-ready and street-legal 2014 SRT Viper TA (Time Attack) is on level three with the rest of the Chrysler group, and its orange paint makes it easy to find. Ford -- Truck lovers will get a chance to look at the Ford Atlas concept that the Blue Oval showed at the Detroit auto show. The truck is the centerpiece of Ford's display on level one, and is a look at what we can expect from future F-150s.
