The bedroom should be your retreat after a busy day. It's easy to create an inviting space even with modest floor space with smart choice of furniture and accessories. As the bed is the most important piece of furniture in this space, start decorating a small bedroom by choosing the right one. Choose a bed with a slim silhouette that won't overwhelm the room, such as an iron bed with a see-through headboard and footboard. An iron bed reminiscent of Victorian-era brass beds is the perfect small room decorating option. This choice of bed will keep the bedroom plan open and airy and make the room appear larger. The bed also allows for storage space underneath. When decorating a small bedroom every square inch is potential storage space. Extra bed linens or bulky winter wardrobe can be stored under the bed with the help of storage bins and crates. Choose bins and boxes with caster for easy access and label them for easy identification of the contents. Decorate the bed with a bed skirt for added visual appeal as well as to keep the storage boxes out of sight. The iron bed paired with the bed skirt is a great choice for a small bedroom and lends charming cottage appeal to the bedroom. The next step of small room decorating is choosing the right bedding. White and pastels are a great choice while decorating a small bedroom and these colors will complement the cottage appeal of the iron bed. Pops of color can be added with printed duvet covers or shams. You can drape a throw in a vibrant shade at the foot of the bed for a visually-interesting space. Small space living can be big on style so look for ways to make your modest bedroom special and unique. Hand-printed textile pillow shams, a comfy knitted throw or interesting bedside lamps are some fun ideas for your bedroom. When it comes to small room decorating, opt for multi-purpose furniture to maximize on available floor space. Ottomans are excellent choices for your modestly-sized bedroom space. Storage ottomans can function as bedside tables. Choose roomy ones to help you store extra bed linens. Place a tray on top to hold essentials like magazines and vases. Ottomans can also be placed at the foot of the bed, instead of a bench, to create seating space in the small bedroom. The slim profile of the ottoman helps to create an expansive feel in the bedroom while creating seating.
