They are generally irregular in shape and they can hamper nail growth. Genital warts - Warts may also grow on skin and membrane surrounding your sex organs. They can take various sizes and shapes. Some appear like white patches, others appear like small clusters of cauliflower. Genital warts are a kind of STD, and the most common one at that. Why do we get warts? Wart viruses can be contracted. They can be transmitted by contact with the wart or something else that was in direct contact to it, for example bath towels. Therefore apart from being spread from person to person, you can also inadvertently spread warts from one area on your body to another. Also, you are more likely to acquiring these viruses if you have a cut or scrape on your skin. This is one reason why warts are a common problem among children. Treatment Most warts don’t need treatment, but if they are causing you any discomfort or spreading, or you are annoyed by how they look, you can have them removed surgically.
