Throughout the last week, I have been utilizing Google to evaluate and investigate diet trends and eating habits ideas. This has been a great deal of fun! Recently I came across a new trend while having dinner. While dining at a local Indian restaurant, my wife and I were discussing a few of these wild diet plans. Our waiter overheard and he pointed out a diet that he had attempted recently and claimed just how amazing it worked. His diet plan: Cayenne Pepper Diet. Cayenne pepper diet? That’s correct, you read that accurately. I am talking about the Cayenne Pepper Diet. The most interesting part of the tale is the fact that our waiter heard of this diet from none other than Beyoncé. No he doesn’t know her; he read about it in a writeup and thought he should give it a shot. Beyoncé followed the diet before she began filming the movie Dream Girls and was overjoyed with its outcome. Well, if the Cayenne Pepper Diet is perfect for Hollywood, could it be good for us? Based on scientific research, without a doubt it appears that the cayenne pepper diet works. Analysis, carried out back in 2011 by Penn State, suggested that the spices boosted metabolic activity. In fact, based on the study, a mixture of turmeric, cinnamon, rosemary, pregano, garlic powder, and paprika had an important effect on participant’s blood results. Research workers stated, “These significant effects were likely a result of high concentration of phenolic antioxidants in spices”. This high concentration led to a greater metabolic rate in all of the program’s participants. Of course we all know, the higher/faster you metabolism works, the more excess calories you burn. What exactly does the cayenne pepper diet require? Well find out if you can handle it: Cayenne Pepper Diet Recipe: • 10 oz . . . . of water • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup • 1/10 teaspoon of finely ground cayenne pepper . Combine the above and drink. After that be sure to consume a minimum of 60 ounces of the drink a day. What exactly else can you have? Well, absolutely nothing. If you haven’t figured it out yet, this is a fasting diet plan. Beyoncé claimed that she shed over 20lbs by following this for 14 successive days. Talk about incredible weight-loss! But is this a healthy and well-balanced plan? Well, no and no. A professional put it this way (and perhaps you picked up on some of these factors above), “On this diet your daily calorie intake would be about 600 calories. Apart from being mind-numbingly boring, you’d also be irritable, suffer headaches and find it hard to concentrate. There’s zero nutritional value (except perhaps some nutrients from the lemon), and no protein or fiber.” Wow, so why the body is detoxing as well as losing weight, you will be withholding quite a few important nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that the body requires. After my waiter had finished discussing to me exactly how he had performed the diet for 10 days and lost an impressive 15 pounds within that time, I informed him that most of that was due to water weight (lack of sodium). I then asked him if he had gain some of the pounds back and he declared, “well yes, almost all of it.” So there you go. The cayenne pepper diet works well. You are going to lose weight if you decide to detox your body with it. The majority of the weight, if not all of it, will probably be water weight therefore you will most likely gain it all back.
