 In the years past, the RIM or the Research in Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, is one of the top contenders in the people’s attention in terms of which is the best smartphone there is in the market. Well known celebrities and business tycoons are crazy over their BlackBerries. Once, I heard one millionaire say that his BlackBerry is more important in his life than his girlfriend. That is how BlackBerry ruled the technological world in the beginning. Years passed, and it seems that there has been a sudden change in the wind. In just a snap of a finger, BlackBerry lost all its glory. In fact, people will undoubtedly choose cheap mobile phones even if they are just feature phones over BlackBerry smartphones. Let’s have a look on the reasons why BlackBerry is now screwed. 1. I think that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the last BlackBerry smartphone that proved its worth. After that, all the BlackBerry smartphones that came out of the market are nothing but trash. BlackBerry had been complacent to their best feature years ago, and that is the convenience of having a physical QWERTY keypad. But then again, that feature which they regard as their saving grace wasn’t able to salvage them after all. 2. Unlike other companies that continuously release new and improved smartphones with out-of-this-world features and specs, BlackBerry is in the dark, taking a long time before they release a new addition to their smartphone collection. And not just that, other smartphone companies are incessantly laboring to improve not only their smartphones, but also their cell phone accessories. 3. One more reason to be dismayed about BlackBerry is its BlackBerry App World. Android now has over 200,000 apps and games in its store, while Apple’s iOS is now trying to push to 350,000 apps and games. And guess what, BlackBerry only has 26,000 apps in its App world. If you think about it, BlackBerry App World is basically like a ghost town. 4. Apparently, BlackBerry can’t keep its patrons to come back for more. A survey conducted from last year showed that even BlackBerry users can’t love their handheld device after all. More than half of the respondents professed their desire to switch to either Android or iOS as soon as possible. 5. The truth is, most, if not all of the BlackBerry devices are totally boring. They hype up their upcoming gadgets, and they sensationalize their products, but when you already have them in your hands, you will realize that they are short to what they are supposed to be; so enough said. So there you go dear friends. I have been a BlackBerry user before although I must admit, I and my BB had the best of times together, but there are things that just don’t last. It’s up to you now if you still want a BlackBerry in your palms or switch to a different handset.
