Firstly, I want everyone answer a simple question – How many hour of sleep did you have last night? If your answer is something – less than eight hours, then you may be one of the millions of adults suffering from sleep deprivation which is a serious medical condition that may speed up the ageing process. The symptoms of lack of proper sleep may be inferior memory, decrease in the energy levels, physical abilities and fluctuating emotional moods. With increase in the work pressure and tensions in the personal life commitments, or socializing on weekends (lifestyle) - individuals sometimes don’t compromise on their sleep. This reflects now or in future with its adverse effects in the human’s life. Throughout the week the professional compromises on his sleep giving justice to his working commitments, as well weekends he/she got to compromise on sleep with the excuse of social commitments or weekend lifestyle.

Certainly lack of sleep take a toll on personal health – Sleep deprivation is a chronic condition in the fast paced life that one might not even realize that they are suffering from it. Science has proven that lack of sleep may take serious toll on one’s health:

- It hampers one’s immune system and dramatically weakens the immune power.

- Be the reason for putting one in a pre-diabetic state – making one feel hungry even after having already eaten. This may exhibit adverse effects on one’s body weight.

- Also effects by impairing the memory, if one has lack of sleep on even a single night – can have impact on his thinking ability in the following day. This decreased thinking ability then hampers one’s problem solving ability.

- Sleepless nights accelerate the growth of tumor – Research claimed tumors grow two to three times faster with severe sleep dysfunctions.

Also, help you understand some of the sleep benefits to make you understand the importance of appropriate sleep in one’s life. If you are from them who think another cup of coffee might help you to be awake, then think again.. As coffee contains caffeine – which may actually make you feel more tired than you felt before – it just helps continue the cycle. Busy people should understand the importance of a sound sleep and understand that it’s something, which our body needs desperately.

Human body is genetically programmed to operate on the five crucial cycles of sleep – ranging from very deep to very light, and finally rapid eye movement (REM). This cycle continues from night, with varying time spent in each step, most of the evenings are spent in REM sleep. How can one know whether he/she getting enough rest? Experts have claimed that individuals who feel drowsy – falling asleep within five minutes of lying down are probably one who is sleeping deprived. Sleep proves to be helpful to one’s body by conserving energy and immune system requires fighting against infections. It’s the time when brain’s frontal cortex shuts down – with lack in rest to some part of brain affects one’s ability to control speech, access memory and solve problems.

Thus, sound sleep is very important for life an effective lifestyle.
