Hotspur: Deal agreed for Soldado After reports of Tottenham trying to acquire Roberto Soldado circulated weeks ago, there’s finally a conclusion to it all. The team has announced on its website that they have indeed acquired the striker from Valencia. The 28-year-old began his career at Real Madrid where he scored 63 goals in 120 league appearances for the B side, Real Madrid Castilla, also featuring on 16 occasions for the First Team either side of a loan move to Osasuna in season 2006-7 when he scored 11 goals in 30 appearances before moving to Getafe in 2008. The Spain international now has 11 caps to his name and is the scorer of six goals for his country, with his most recent appearances coming in the Confederations Cup, staged in Brazil in June.”
