Day-after-day, these days, there is emerging advice headlining in magazines and newspapers about how to lose weight. It could become confusing attempting to extract the valid advice from fads, so we looked to the pros.

Spice things up to smooth out cellulite. Spices like turmeric and cayenne pepper stimulate the flow, reducing puffiness and fighting toxins with high levels of antioxidants. Try making a low fat veggie curry a few times a week with a number of the other ingredients listed here and see if it generates a difference. Maintain a food diary. At-least until you have got the hang of your own healthy new diet. This way you'll have the capacity to track patterns in your eating behavior, spot possible pitfalls, or even only give yourself a pat on the back and factor in a treat.

A step back to more natural foods would improve our health and waistlines.

Eat More Fiber. Fiber makes us feel full sooner and remains in our gut longer than other materials we eat, keeping us feeling full longer and slowing down our speed of digestion. Due to its greater fiber content, a single portion of whole grain bread might be more filling than two helpings of white bread. Fiber also moves fat through our digestive tract faster so that less of it is absorbed. Refined grains like white rice and those used to make white bread and sugary breakfast cereals have had most of their fiber and nutrients stripped away. They turn into blood sugar (glucose) so rapid that, like sugar itself, they can cause a spike in our insulin level. This tells our body that loads of energy is easily available and that it should start storing it and stop burning fat. Eating foods with tons of fiber can help keep our blood sugar in a more consistent level.

Love your treats away from home. Once you want a treat, Ellie Krieger, RD, host of Food Network's Healthy Appetite, suggests taking a walk to the local ice cream parlor or planning a family trip. By making it into an adventure, you don't need to worry about the temptation of having treats in the house, and it's also a fun and pleasurable means to get it work when you are trying to shake off excess weight. And for those times you simply can't get out? Krieger stocks her kitchen with fresh fruit, which she thinks can be every bit as flavorful as any other dessert.

Be alert to hidden calories in things such as cereal bars. They may look diet friendly, but while whole-grain varieties are high in slow release energy, vitamins and minerals, the sugars and fats used to bind and flavour them send the calorie count whizzing upwards.

Start with soup. Individuals who ate a low-calorie vegetable soup before a meal consumed 20% fewer calories at the meal, according to research from Penn State Unniversity. Have a low calorie broth based veggie soup before your biggest meal of-the day to reduce calories and lose weight without feeling hungry.
