Not many players wear sunglasses or other accessories, as they could hamper vision of the ball, but often a sweatband is worn. Since that this is a game of running and sharp, quick movements, the player must ensure that he/she has the correct footwear. Shoes are tried and tested before they are purchased, and are checked for sufficient cushioning and support. Players who are competitive will pay particular attention to their shoes, and may even fit them with soles that match well with the type of court they will be playing on.
