If you are unaware about the compressed air dryers available in the market at present times, these are devices which are used for removing moisture and other contaminants from compressed air. At present times the leading Air Dryer Manufacturers across the world manufacture different devices to meet the varying requirements of industries and other commercial units. During the process of compressing air, the different atmospheric contaminants such as water vapor are concentrated. As a result, the compressed air has a higher dew point compared to free atmospheric air. If there is excess water or moisture present in the air, then it can cause a number of problems in the industries such as corrosion and deterioration of equipment, malfunctioning of units, hindrances in production etc. To meet the varying requirement of users, the air dryer manufacturers have started to make different types of compressed air dryer systems, whose characteristics and performance are basically differentiated on the basis of their dew point. The different types of air dryers available in the present day market are classified as Regenerative desiccant dryers, Refrigerated dryers, Deliquescent dryers and Membrane dryers. Regenerative desiccant dryers are also known as Desiccant dryer or twin tower dryer. In these dryers, the compressed air is made to go through a pressure vessel equipped with twin towers. These towers contain desiccant materials such as silica gel, alumina, molecular sieve and others. These materials draw the moisture and water vapor from the compressed air by the adsorption technique. The desiccant brings the pressure dew point of the compressed air to the level where there is no condensation of water. The Refrigerated dryer from the leading air dryer manufacturers on the other hand make use of two heat exchangers to compress air and remove water and contaminants from it. One of these is used for air-to-air while the other one is used for air-to-refrigeration. However, some devices also come with single TRISAB heat exchanger which performs both functions. Deliquescent dryers come with pressure vessel which is filled with hygroscopic material that captures the water vapor. This material gradually gets dissolved and forms a solution at the bottom of the pressure vessel. This solution must be drained out from the vessel at regular intervals and the hygroscopic material must also be refilled. The hygroscopic materials usually come in tablets or briquette form. Last but not the least, the membrane dryers come with dehumidification membrane which helps to remove water vapor and contaminants from compressed air.
