We have barely just got back not just got back home from the summer holidays and we are already planning a family escapade this fall. Children are entertained with the new school year, so Lucy and I have been looking at the map of Spain to prepare for a short trip to coincide with the weekend of the 12th of October, that unfortunately this year lands on a Saturday so we will not be enjoying a bank holiday. Since there are only a couple of days, the kids have classes and we both work, we have thought that, travelling from Madrid, the most interesting is to travel south, Seville, Cadiz and Huelva. We like the beach, although it is not a necessity, so we have decided that the best alternative is the capital of Andalusia, where we can mix some culture and leisure for the children. With respect to the accommodation, our idea is to book a hotel in the centre of Seville, but we are hesitating between two options, the Confortel Puerta Triana Hotel and the Petit Palace Marques de Santa Ana. Prices are very similar, approximately 90€ per night, and both have a perfect location, right in the centre of the old town of the city. The advantage of the first hotel, is that it is a hotel with arranged parking, so if we finally decide to travel by car it will be crucial to have a parking close to the hotel, as it can be extremely difficult to find parking in the Seville. The second hotel offers services and activities designed for those travelling with kids and it is most probable that, being only a short trip, we travel by train or plane. We already have some activities planned for our visit to Seville. I would like to take the children to the exposition “Lina, dressing like a flamenco”, at the Art and Customs museum that is opened until January 2014. The exposition is centred on the history of the typical flamenco dresses through the work of the Sevillian designer Marcelina Fernandez. One of the days we are reserving it to swing by Isla Magica, as our children did not get the chance to enjoy a theme park during the summer holidays, so this time, if they behave well, they shall have all the fun they want! Lucy is not particularly keen on theme parks, but I think it will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a day with the family, and I am pretty sure that he will enjoy himself just as much as our children. The rest, I will tell you upon our return. For the time being, we continue with the planning!
