It is thus, regarded as one of the live examples of unity in diversity. This diversity is even visible in the customs and traditions of the people. To know about the religious Indian wedding ceremonies in detail, read on Buddhist wedding: Buddhists are accepting of other religions, even within the same household, there are no religious laws that require that both individuals in a marriage should be Buddhist or that conversion to either's religious confidence is warranted or expected. Although the Buddha expressed no specific rules and regulations regarding marriage, advice on leading a happy married life was offered, and suggested that commitment and faithfulness are the most important attributes of a happy marriage. Christian wedding: In a Christian wedding, the groom usually arrives earlier than the bride and seats in front of the church next to the best man. The father then escorts the bride down the aisle where she is united with the groom. They then exchange vows in presence of God and the priest, where the priest then proceeds to pronounce them husband and wife, exchange of rings and making of declarations with the guidance of a minister. There is also reading of the cerimony, prayers, proclamation and signing of the register and marriage certificate. Hindu Wedding: Traditional Hindu wedding ceremonies can last for days and involve much ceremony in Sanskrit which may be understood only by the celebrant conducting the service. This ceremony is considerably shorter and is intended to be understandable even to non-Indian viewers, making it suitable for intercultural or mixed Hindu/non-Hindu marriages. It includes three spots to insert optional readings and musical performances of your choosing. The celebrant in this ceremony need not be formally trained as a Hindu celebrant. He or she should be familiar with Hindu weddings and comfortable acting as a master of ceremonies, guiding the participants through their parts and explaining the meaning of the service to the audience. It’s agreed to if the celebrant keeps the script in hand during the ceremony. Jain Wedding: Like all other religions, Jains also celebrate their marriages with great passion. They also have a number of rituals before and after marriage, which are performed with utmost simplicity and purity. Pre-marriage rituals may differ slightly in different countries. Muslims in India conduct the wedding as per the wedding rituals in Middle Eastern countries. Muslim wedding rituals or Nikaah rituals can be broadly divided in three categories, namely pre-marriage rituals, the wedding ceremony and the post marriage rituals. Parsi Wedding: Parsi marriage is known as 'Lagan' and is conducted with great passion and dedication. The customs and traditions observed in the Parsi marriage are quite different from the traditional Hindu marriage. This makes them a lot more fun and interesting.
