The MP-4 iron is forged from a single, mild carbon steel billet, giving them the enchanced feel that is expected from a Mizuno blade iron. By adding more bulge in the shorter irons, the MP-4 irons maintain the shot and trajectory control demanded by the game's best players. The MP-64 irons were one of our top-rated irons for 2013, but even for some of Mizuno’s staff players they’re still smaller and less forgiving than they’d like. Instead of increasing blade length, engineers added weight to the MP-69 Irons by increasing the size of the muscle pad behind the sweetspot. In the longer irons, you will notice the most consistent thickness which keeps a majority of the mass low for higher trajectory.
