Planning a Cruise in 2014 here there are many options available to you choose from the Mediterranean has some fantastic destinations to choose from weather the historic city of Rome or ‘Jewel of the Adriatic’ Dubrovnik or ancient city of Istanbul the only city in the world to span two continents. These are just some of the fantastic cities to take it weather you take a eastern or western med cruise.

Rome : You visit Rome without stopping at the Coliseum, The Coliseum was at the heart of the Roman empire, the sheer size of it is massive it was the biggest of the amphitheatre build by the Romans between 70 AD. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public shows such as, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. Next stop the Vatican includes some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world it dates back to the 16th Century. Another must see before leave is the Sistine Chapel with its ceiling decorated by Michelangelo and the Stanze della Segnatura decorated by Raphael are on the visitor route through the Vatican Museums be warmed ques maybe lengthy so give yourself time, visitors numbers each year are the region of 5m. Dubrovnik: The medieval-era Old Town is a walled city, and from above -- you can walk the mile or so stretch which high above ground level for amazing views. The Old Town Dubrovnik is littered with Renaissance churches and fountains, with a rich history. Throughout the city you'll find narrow, cobblestone streets where pedestrians stroll from shop to shop, dine and drink at al fresco cafes and soak up the sun. Dubrovnik is in the south-western corner of Croatia, directly across the Adriatic Sea from Italy's east coast, under which lies Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some parts of the city are still being restored (it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site) after being damaged during the Croatian War of Independence in the early 1990's.

Istanbul: Istanbul is a city like no other. Compasses here point east and west at the same time. The only city in the world to straddle two continents, Istanbul is the crossroads of all crossroads. This seriously ancient city has survived for more than 2,500 years, during which time it has served as the capital of three empires, been called by at least four names, and been fought over by Greeks and Romans, barbarian tribes and Crusaders, and Byzantines and Ottomans. Some of the most popular tourist attractions include The Blue Mosque (Called Sultanahmet Camii in Turkish) is an historical mosque. The mosque is known as the Blue Mosque because of blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design. Mosque was built in the early 1600s, during the rule of Ahmed. The Grand Bazaar, once the center of trade for the Ottoman Empire, is one of the largest markets in the world with more than 3,000 shops covering 61 streets. Over the years the Hagia Sofia was a church, then a mosque and now a museum, the Hagia Sophia features a gallery of mosaics and is one of the world’s finest examples of Byzantine architecture.
