Places to visit in Varanasi- the spiritual and the natural tenderness of a holy city

Travel & Tourism
Varanasi is the oldest city in the world and holds a place of extreme sacredness to the Hindus. Varanasi is the place where Indian philosophies, its mystical touch, its sptritualism, all mingle to manifest the holiness around it. Varanasi is thus a centre of the India that has been continuing through ages. Varanasi tourism has opened itself for the tourists appreciating their visit with all the hospitality. Besides Hinduism, Varanasi also maintains a relationship with Buddhism and Jainism. Thus the entire place can be seen as the heart of Indian culture with the Ganga flowing across it giving a serene touch. Here are some places of Varanasi that would be of extreme beauty to the senses of the tourists.

KashaVishwanathTemple: It is one of the most popular temples and is deemed extremely sacred to the Hindus. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds a distinguished position in the worship and observance of the Shaiva philosophy. In hindu theology, the temple is mentioned several times. Infact it is considered that out of the twelve jyotirlingas, one is located in this temple. Thus this temple is seen as one of the sacred places for the Hindus. Tourists can visit the temple and witness the beautiful architecture and the holy ambience and live some moments of their life in spiritual harmony.

Manikarnika ghat: It is a sacred place of the Hindus and the place is mostly known as a place of cremation. It is particularly sacred to the Hindus as a cremation place and also because of the legend that the ear ornament of Mata Sati has fallen here. Thus Manikarnika ghat attained its significance and is still considered as a popular spot of tourist attraction. Tourists can see the mysticism and asterism and experience a different India.

Ramnagar Fort: Ramnagar Fort is situated on the eastern bank of the ganges. The Tulsi Ghat is just opposite to it. The fort is built with cream coloured chunar sandstone. The architecture is of Mughal style. The pavilion and carved balconies along with the courtyards opened wide, Ramnagar Fort is a beautiful and attractive place. Varanasi tourism has thus opened itself to the tourists and they can visit the place to their utter delight.

Dhamek stupa: It is also one of the popular places attracting tourists worldwide. It is one of the few stupas which is held in great reverence. Although the stupa is enlarged in six occasions previously, the upper part is still unfinished. However, it is the most massive structure in Sarnath with its height of 43.6 metres and with a diameter of twenty eight metres. It looks like a cylinder in bricks and looks attractive with the floral carvings from the Gupta period. The carved out figures of birds and human beings and the Brahmi inscriptions make the structure appealing even more.

Varanasi tourism has opened itself to the people and abounds in many historical monuments and also beautiful places that will be more captivating and enchanting to the people.
