Disaster management is a complex domain. It requires preparedness and an ability to organize thought process even in the most difficult situations. Well, not everyone is able to pursue such situations and deliver managerial experience to accomplish the task. Given this scenario, there are very few programs in the country that deal with specializing in disaster management. The Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics (SIG) is amongst the top notch institutions in the country to offer a full fledged course in disaster management. In lieu of the recent rise in the number of mishaps that have been happening, people are realizing the importance of professional disaster management.
