India is a developing country with a vast population so there is lot of scope of medical line in India. The vast population need large no. of doctor and other medical related administrator or researcher and small level worker. Thus medical line has great future not only in india but abroad also there is a good career for doctors, especially indian ones. the major Specializations include General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), Psychiatry, Anesthesiology etc. There is also Super Specializations which require a further 3-5 years of study in areas such as Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardio-thoracic surgery, Conito-urinary surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Clinical Hematology. Russia is becoming increasingly popular as a study destination amongst Indian students. More and more students are moving to Russia for medical education because there is no entrance exam required, no capitation fees, easy admission process, and the tuition fee is also very less. Russia also offers multitude of opportunities for internship. Moreover, MBBS in Russia is taught in two languages: Russian and English. – Russian medical education finds a place in the top WHO and UNESCO ranking. Russia provides hassle free admission procedure to MBBS aspirants without any donation or entrance exam. Tuition fee in Russian medical universities is also low compared to western countries. Now are these factors enough to rate a country as a great study abroad option for pursuing Medical courses. In Russia an undergraduate MD or MBBS degree usually lasts for six years. The course is available both in English and Russian medium. You may need about Rs. 8 lacks to 10 lacks to complete the MBBS course (MD in Russia). Out of 51 institutions, offering MD, only Moscow Medical Academy is rated as 2nd Best in the world by UNESCO and World Health Organization. I will like to reproduce an article from TOI to give twist in the tale:- "The Russian MBBS story has more than a few loose ends. A number of students have complained about the Russian experience. Their grievances range from unkept promises and inflated costs to inadequacy of the degree. The plight of thousands of 'Russian doctors'—a term used to describe all Medical graduates from the erstwhile Soviet Republic—who failed to pass the mandatory screening test conducted by the Medical Council of India (MCI) recently has compounded the fears. In the year 2003, about 25 students of the 100-odd who went to various Russian universities returned after completing a year of their "six-year MBBS course in English". While the center claims that most of these students were expelled from their respective universities for not adhering to the strict academic and hostel norms, a few students whom TOI spoke to had a different version to offer. Swati Devre, a Thane resident who lost Rs 6 lakh in the "year-long Russian misadventure", claimed that the teachers were not conversant in English. Students also claimed that examinations were mere "viva exercises". Another parent, who asked his son to return from Russia a year back, said that although they were promised an all-English course, the university handout makes a subtle distinction. "The letter states that the six-year MD-Physician course equivalent to one of best MBBS college in India, which is conducted in the English language for pre-clinical subjects, is registered with the ministry of public health, Russian Federation," he pointed out. The catch, he felt, was in the pre-clinical subjects angle. "Pre-clinical subjects are only a part of the course. What about the clinical courses? If they are to be conducted in Russian, why the all-English tag?" His son, in fact, claimed that Indian embassy officials in Moscow had told Indian students in 2002 that the Russian Federation government itself did not recognize the six-year format for MBBS courses.
