The Ice Chapel Want to hold your ceremony in the one of the coolest wedding venues around? At the Hotel de Glace in Quebec, guests have the opportunity to say their vows in a chapel made completely of ice! The chilly but beautiful crystalline cathedral is kept at around 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The newlywed bride and groom drink champagne out of two ice glasses as their guests watch from ice benches draped with animal skins. The hotel even features its own line of extra warm wedding dresses with fuzzy lining and white hooded capes with a fur trim. The Roller Coaster Some people might compare marriage to being on a roller coaster, but did you know you could actually say your vows on one? Each year, a handful of couples say, "I do" on the Cyclone roller coaster located on New York's Cony Island. The world-famous classic coaster is 83 years old and sits of the famed two and a half mile boardwalk. After the ceremony, usually performed on the boarding platform, the couple and their wedding party take a spin on the coaster and head to the reception to dine on hotdogs and funnel cake. The Shark Tank It's not unusual for couples to wed at the Atlantis Aquarium in Long Island, NY. One couple was brave enough to do it in a tank submerged in the 120,000-gallon shark exhibit! The bride and groom, wearing white and black wetsuits, respectively, said their vows using special helmets that allowed them to speak underwater. Their minister read them their vows from the safety of dry land via transmitter radio. The exhibit contains about ten sand tiger and nurse sharks. Both breeds are considered non-aggressive. Though it may not seem like the safest of wedding venues, it should be noted that the newlyweds are both expert-certified divers. Up in the Air Thanks to Weddings in the Sky, you'll be walking on air on your wedding day, literally! The company owns portable marriage mobiles in over fifteen countries around the world, which will lift you and your wedding party 50 meters in the air for your ceremony. The locations are endless, with the only requirement being 5,000 square feet of land below to anchor the crane. Past locations have included the Grand Canyon, the canals of Venice and the Jaipur stars. The platform has room for twenty guests and a second can be rented for accompanying music or a reception dinner. To depart, some couples choose to bungee jump back to earth. Would you consider any of these wedding venues? Perhaps you prefer something more traditional or perhaps you'll choose one no one has ever thought of!
