Agrrr. Is Katie Holmes on board for Fifty Shades of Grey? Casting has been quite the rigmarole over the past few months in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie. First there was the whole controversy surrounding Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam’s casting, and then shortly after, Charlie Hunnam abandoned ship all together. So far, the pre-production of the much-anticipated movie already has us reaching for our popcorn before the real thing even comes out. And now, there is another controversial casting rumor on the scene, one that concerns Katie Holmes – which is a name we never expected to be associated with this production. However, it turns out the former Dawson’s Creek star wants to play Christian Grey ’s own “Mrs. Robinson”. According to a source, who spoke to The National Enquirer, says: “She’s looking a this as the role of a life time for her.”Katie’s career has been full over ups and downs, and it looks like the actress wants to be taken seriously again.“It will shock a lot of people but she thinks Hollywood will sit up and take notice,” although, since there is no clear evidence on whether the source can be trusted, we’ll take it on with a pinch of salt. However, it doesn’t mean that the rumors and speculations will stop. But, can anything be trusted as being certain when it comes to this movie? The hype around the making of Fifty Shades of Grey is already at its peak, and considering we’ve already had cast leads drop out we’re going to hold out until the movie is finally in post production to make any claims on whether Katie is in or not. Katie Holmes’ participation in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie would be a huge step in her career, and could very well be the movie to launch the actress back into active Hollywood life – finally giving the actress a portrait that goes beyond Joey from Dawson’s Creek or being Tom Cruise’s scientologist wife. But can she pull it off? While many imagine Elena Lincoln being a sexy MILF like Angelina Jolie or Kim Catrall taking on the role, it might take a lot to convince fans with the casting of Katie Holmes. So for now, we’re going wait and see whether any official announcement will be made concerning Katie and Elena.
