Otherwise, the only other logistical concern rests with whether or not you belong to a homeowners association. If you do belong to one of these organizations, you will most likely have to request a waiver from them to put the container on your property. Once all of the logistics are straightened out, you have to figure out the optimal size that you need. Of course you do not want to get a size that is bigger than you need as this will cost more money and take up more space. On the other hand, if you select a container that is too small, then you will be left with junk that you have to find a way to dispose of yourself. When you are deciding on a roll-off size, be advised that you generally need a container at least one size bigger than you initially think. Things like old carpeting, flooring, concrete, and building materials are very bulky and they fill up dumpsters quickly. Containers come in ten, twenty, thirty and forty cubic yard sizes. The ten-yarder is about twelve feet long by eight feet wide. It is perfect for chores such as cleaning house, or maybe a small bathroom renovation, but will be too small for anything else. The forty-yarder monster is meant for entire home renovations. These large roll-offs are meant for full-scale home renovations.
